The articles listed provide significant insight into the
campus environment. As may be noted, some colleges and
universities have been covered in the press more frequently
than others. Least one get the impression that this
indicates a greater problem or more concern about the
problem with those colleges with more coverage, this may not
be a fair conclusion.
The number of articles for each college may only reflect
the importance the community and that specific college
places on the issue. For instance, Indiana, Minnesota,
Utah, and the DC area all seem to have significant media
coverage. Again this could well be the result of the
community concern and/or the priorities that the colleges
place on incidents involving there students.
What one can take from the articles is a greater general
awareness of the practices and risks at many, if not most,
of the nations campuses. In addition to the articles
covering specific colleges, numerous articles are published
on a recurring basis. These are identified in the "Articles

The purpose of this exercise is not to disparage any one
institution nor to dissuade one from seeking the appropriate
college experience for either themselves or their child, but
solely to increase awareness and hopeful assist those to
wish to change the harmful prevailing alcohol culture on too
many of our campuses.
