Minnesota State University-Mankato Mankato police issue 100 plus underage drinking citations-8/22/11 “There were 105 citations issued during those patrols, so the citations were up about 50 percent even though the patrol hours were cut in half this year.  In addition to the underage drinking party on Fifth Street, another large party was busted in the 300 block of West Pleasant Street, McDermott said. Others were cited while walking between student apartment complexes in the campus area.”

Amanda Jax,  October 30, 2007, Minnesota State University, Mankato How and why? Amanda, a former student, returned to Mankato to celebrate her 21st birthday with friends with whom she had attended college. Amanda was taken to a friend's off-campus apartment after becoming intoxicated. When the friends woke up in the morning, they found Jacks unresponsive and called 911.
Rissa J. Amen-Reif, November 25, 2007, Minnesota State University, Mankato How and why? Rissa was hit by a car and killed after ending up in the middle of a road on the edge town. She had been at a sorority event at a bar more than a mile away and police believe alcohol was a factor.
