Recent Alcohol-Related Tragedies involving Western Technical College Students

Craig Meyers, 21, February 14, 2010, Western Technical College How and why? Craig was missing after attending a wedding reception at a La Crosse bowling alley, and visiting two bars on a Saturday night. A bloodhound tracked Craig’s' scent to river, where police found footprints leading out to the icy river.  Craig was determined to have had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.
Kimberly Coppens, September 9, 2007, Western Technical College How and why? Kimberly had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when she fell from bluff near a river which is a popular gathering place.
