Recent Alcohol-Related Tragedies involving University of Wisconsin Stout  Students

Jesse Jensen, 23, January 23, 2014, University of Wisconsin-Stout More Information Jessie lost her live after she was found unresponsive in her room.   Tests determined that she had a mix of oxycodone, morphine and alcohol in her system.
Bradley L. Simon, 22, September 23, 2010, University of Wisconsin-Stout More Information Bradley lost his life five days after being pushed into a wall while riding a bicycle.  Two student hockey players were arrested for the assault and eventual death.   The assault was the culmination of an altercation that began when all three were in a bar. 
Michael Dixon, March 23, 2010, University of Wisconsin Stout More Information Michael died after being struck by a car on campus.  The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated.
Caitlin L. Higgins, 21, January 1, 2009, University of Wisconsin Stout More Information Caitlin and Martin Platek were riding a snowmobile  across a lake at a very high rate of speed when he hit the shoreline, went airborne and crashed into an aluminum dock that was pulled onto the shore.  Investigators said both speed and alcohol are likely factors in the tragedy.

April 5, 2008, University of Wisconsin-Stout More Information A smoky house fire near a University of Wisconsin campus killed three students who never made it out of the rooms where they were sleeping early Saturday, even though neighbors said they heard alarms.  As part of the investigation, the police conducted multiple interviews in an attempt to re-create what took place before the fire. They learned was that all three had been consuming alcoholic beverages.
