Reported that a Toyota Camry raced down Spring Street and plowed into
three friends waiting outside the popular pub near their campus about 2 a.m.
where they were celebrating a birthday. Jacqueline L. Nilsson, 21, was
thrown 30 feet into the air and died prior to her arrival at the hospital. The driver, Lisa M. O'Connell, 19,
had a blood alcohol level 11 times the legal limit for someone her age.
The driver, Jacqueline, and one of the injured friends were students at Bridgewater State College.

of the death of Jacqueline, the author reflects on the event, the circumstances,
and lesson learned or not learned. The article reports that the driver,
Lisa O'Connell, was charged and convicted of vehicular homicide and sentenced to
a two-year jail term.

Reports that in response to the two alcohol related deaths last school
year, the Bridgewater State College Administration is changing some alcohol
policies. Included is offering a a new, online program for all
incoming students. Also, a committee was then formed to figure out what would be the
best program for students to use. T
