Fraternity bid week partying and drinking preceded the death of Florida Southern College student Michael Szwed, Lakeland police said Monday. The report stated that Michael was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity,
and had been out drinking Friday night, until 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning and began drinking again for the
next day, the bid day event.
His roommate said Michael had been "very intoxicated and that he had been throwing

Reported that Michael Szwed's parents are suing the college, his fraternity and two students, claiming they could have prevented his death.
