Reported that Edward died from excessive drinking at his college graduation party.

Edward and friends celebrated  his graduation from Loyola College in Baltimore in his home.  He passed out from drinking beer and liquor, then friends put him to bed and wasn't breathing when friends later checked .

When they checked on him later, he . He was later pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Reported that "Edward Trapasso, whose son Ed Trapasso died over the weekend following his college graduation party, yesterday also urged parents to supervise their kids' drinking habits."

"Binge drinking and 'drinking your age' during birthday celebrations is in style among many college students," said Trapasso, a former reporter at The Journal News' predecessor. "Parents should be vigilant about monitoring the drinking behavior of their children, including young adults of legal age. Parents must warn their kids to guard against this kind of drinking. The consequences can be deadly."
