Santiago mistakenly entered the wrong apartment in a state of confusion exacerbated by alcohol.  A conflict arose between Santiago and a resident of the apartment and Santiago was fatally stabbed.  The tragic results were determined to be justifiable homicide since the occupant was held to be acting in self-defense.
